History of Laurus Group
Founded in September 2009, Laurus Group was established with a clear purpose: to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the construction industry through knowledge-sharing, professional development, and strategic support. In the initial years (2010–2011), our focus was on the creation of high-impact discussion forums and training workshops.
Between 2012 and 2014, Laurus Group entered into a strategic alliance with Gerens, a leading consulting and academic institution. This partnership marked a significant step forward in our evolution, enabling us to deliver specialized consulting and training services tailored exclusively for the construction sector.
Our consulting practice is centered on two key pillars:
- Strategic planning for construction firms seeking sustainable growth and competitive positioning
- Design and implementation of project management systems that reflect internationally recognized best practices
Through Gerens Graduate School, we launched two flagship programs:
- Construction Project Contract Management
- Financial Management for Construction
These programs have equipped numerous professionals with the tools necessary to manage complex construction initiatives with precision and financial acumen.
In 2015, Laurus Group expanded its service offering by entering the field of Expert Witness, supporting arbitration proceedings and facilitating direct negotiations. This initiative is grounded in our extensive project management expertise and our commitment to objective, globally informed solutions for conflict resolution.
Today, we are positioned as a trusted advisor in the prevention and resolution of disputes in construction, providing strategic guidance to ensure project continuity and mitigate risks before they escalate.
Recognizing emerging opportunities, in 2021 we established Laurus Group Forensic, headquartered in San José, Costa Rica. This expansion was driven by our vision to serve the Central American market, which we identified as one of the most promising regions for recovery and growth in the wake of the global pandemic.
